Child policy
From 0 to 3 years old, the excursion is free of charge.
From 4 to 12 years old, child rate will apply.
From 13 years old and above, adult rate will apply.
Children & Babies
Children under 12 years must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Any child not accompanied will be refused access to rides/attractions; Any disclaimer forms to be signed by a minor (under 18yrs), prior to his/her participation in any rides/attractions, must be signed by his/her legal guardian, failing which, the minor shall not be entitled to participate in the activity; Pushchairs and prams are permitted, provided that they do not prevent or unreasonably obstruct the passage of visitors in the alleyways/paths; Certain rides/attractions may be unsuitable for small children. If in doubt, please enquire with a member of staff for more information. The legal guardian of his/her child, shall bear all liability for any damage and/or injury caused by the latter. Baby changing facilities are available at the Discovery Centre. Being given the natural landscape and topography of the Park, you will note that the Park is not pushchair friendly in all areas and may require you to climb steps. However, Casela’s staff is at hand, to help you, if need be.
Security
For security reasons, Casela reserves the right to check the contents of your personal belongings. Should you refuse, you may be asked to leave the premises or refused entrance to the Park, without any refund/indemnity. Although security cameras may be installed in or around the Park, Casela cannot be responsible for any loss, damage and/or theft of your personal belongings;
Personal belongings
Unless required for medical reasons (any proof of which, must be provided to Casela), it shall be forbidden to enter the Park with any vehicle or equipment (whether motorized or non-motorized), usually used for transporting any object or person, such as, but not limited to, roller blades, roller skates, scooters, bicycles etc. Voluminous and/or heavy baggage are not permitted in the Park for security reasons and may be required to be left at the entrance of any ride or attraction, at your own risk and peril, before embarking on same. It shall be forbidden to bring into the Park, any illegal substances, alcohol, glass bottles and/or containers, balls, balloons, firearms and/or generally any other object which, is likely to be offensive, dangerous and/or is illegal; Casela shall not be responsible whatsoever, for any loss, damage and/or theft of your personal belongings; Personal belongings must not be left unattended; Any unclaimed personal belongings left on the premises, at the end of a working day, shall be disposed of by Casela as it shall deem fit; You are advised not to bring any valuable items into the Park; The Park has a natural, safari concept, which means that some of the attractions may be bumpy and dusty. You are advised to protect and hold on well to your personal belongings, when necessary;
Clothing & Footwear
A decent, casual dress code must be respected. Footwear must be worn at all times. No shirtless/topless dress is allowed. Bottoms must be worn at all times. Closed or fastened shoes must be worn for canyoning and zipline activities. Fancy dress and costumes are not allowed. For security and identification purposes, the wearing of any mask is prohibited unless required for medical reasons (any proof of which, must be provided to Casela). Any person with inappropriate dress, (including, but not limited to any dress which, is likely to frighten young visitors), may be refused entrance or asked to leave the premises, without refund or indemnity.
Health & Pregnancy & First Aid facilities
For security reasons, the rides and certain attractions require the participant to be in appropriate physical and mental health e.g. not to suffer from any cardiac condition, hypertension, physical impairment, fracture and/or muscle pain, not be pregnant etc. The participant has a duty to inform Casela of any pertinent condition, following which, Casela may refuse such participation, which shall, for medical and security reasons, not be considered as discriminatory. Where the participant is refused access to participate in any activity, we cannot guarantee a more suitable, alternative activity. No refund will be made where a participant cannot participate in the activity for health reasons. You have a duty to check your state of health before entering the Park and take cognizance of all information, signs and/or brochures communicated to you, prior to participating in any rides and/or attractions. Those suffering from epilepsy or sensitivity to camera flashes are advised not to participate in any ride or attraction with photo shots. Emergency first aid kits are available at all retail outlets. Most of Casela’s staff are trained in first aid. Emergency services will be contacted by Casela where required.
Acts & Behaviour
Any immoral, illegal, violent, aggressive, drunken, racist and/or noisy tranquill and/or act will not be permitted. Anyone undertaking such behaviour or act will be asked to leave the premises, without refund/indemnity and may be the subject of a criminal enquiry, where the matter is reported to the Police. It shall be forbidden for anyone to disturb the animals and tranquillity and peaceful enjoyment of the Park for example, by using horns, vuvuzelas, musical instruments, audio equipment etc. It is strictly forbidden and a criminal offence to remove from the Park, any animal, plant, part of the landscape and/or any other structure and/or to damage or deface any of the aforesaid.
Height Restrictions
Height restrictions, indicated and applicable for certain rides and attractions must be respected, for safety purposes.
Eating and/or Drinking
In order to ensure the safety of its animals, it shall be forbidden to feed the animals. Any food and drink purchased within the Park must be consumed within the designated zones e.g. restaurants and picnic areas.
It shall be forbidden to bring any food and drink into the Park, unless required for medical purposes or for babies (proof of which, shall be provided to Casela);
Smoking & Alcohol
It is forbidden for any person to smoke in a public place, including the Park, its vehicles, parking areas and indoor/outdoor areas. Alcohol must only be consumed on the restaurant premises within the Park, duly licensed for the sale and consumption of alcohol on those premises. Otherwise, it is illegal to consume alcohol elsewhere in the Park, since it is a public place.
Entrance & Re-Admission
Entrance to the Park shall only be permitted where the tickets have been paid upon arrival or, where tickets are prepaid or where bookings are agreed to by Casela, through means of an “Order Confirmation Statement” and a voucher issued by Casela for the booking. The aforesaid voucher or Voucher No. must be presented upon arrival at the Park, failing which, entry will be refused. Any person leaving the Park, will not be allowed to re-enter without paying for a new ticket. Any activities included in the entrance ticket, which do not require any specific booking, are available on a first come, first serve basis. Visitors may be required to queue. All visitors must enter the Discovery Centre through the main entrance. The exit from the Park takes you through the Safira Shop in the Discovery Centre. Any person leaving the Park, will not be allowed to re-enter without paying for a new ticket. It shall be forbidden to linger in or on the premises after public opening hours, which are as follows:
From Monday to Sunday: 9 a.m.to 5 p.m.
The Park is closed on the 25th of December and 1st of January.
Animals
No animals shall be brought into the Park by visitors, apart from guide dogs. The owner of any guide dog will bear all responsibility for the acts and doings of the latter.
It shall be strictly forbidden for any person to ill-treat any animals in the Park. All visitors must adhere strictly to any security protocols and directives of the guides, during any controlled interactions with animals, especially before touching and/or approaching any animal.
Photos/Videos
Any photos and/or videos taken by visitors within the Park (unless otherwise permitted by Casela in writing), shall be used solely for personal purposes and not for any commercial purpose.
Weather Conditions
In the event of adverse weather, Activities may be cancelled or suspended by the Management of Casela for security purposes. In such event, no refund will be made and visitors will be accommodated in the next available Activities on the same day, if possible. Please note however, that most Activities will be conducted even if it is raining. If you choose not to participate in any activity due to the rain, a 100% cancellation fee shall be payable .
Punctuality
You are requested to ensure that you arrive at the Park at least 45 minutes before your booked activity starts and at the designated waiting areas, 15 minutes before the activity, so that you can be picked up by the guides and transported to the relevant departure points. If you are late and miss the activity, we cannot guarantee that there will be any available space for you to assist in the next or subsequent scheduled slots on the same day. In any event, no refund will be made.
Big Cats Activities – Special Conditions
The walk with the lions takes between 45 minutes and 1 hour. Therefore, clients are advised that if booking another activity in the Casela Park either prior to or after their walk, they should allow for at least 20 minutes shuttle time from each destination. If a client is booking for a walk and an interaction, then ideally they should allow for one hour 45 minutes for that activity alone. The whole Big Cat area is closed daily between 12.30 and 1.30pm for lunch. And no Big Cats activities are conducted on Sundays. Visitors will have to sign a disclaimer form before taking part in the following Big Cats activities: interaction, walk with Lions and drive-thru. A Minor (U18) must be accompanied by his/her legal guardian who must sign his disclaimer form. There is a Height restriction of minimum 1m 50cm except for observation and drive thru. A minor who wishes to walk with lions must be at least 15 years in age and also meet the height restriction. All minors must provide proof of age, failing which, the minor will not be able to participate and no refund will be considered. Safari Adventures’ decision is final. Clients with a disability, either physical or mental, will not be considered fit for the walk or interaction and cannot partake for safety reasons. Persons under the influence of alcohol will be refused entrance into any of the Activities. Safari Adventures’ decision is FINAL. Foreign Language Clients: The tour operator shall ensure that its clients understand English, French or Mauritian Creole, or if not, that it provides a translator. We must be informed beforehand that the translator will be accompanying the clients on the activity. In the case of an individual booking an activity and not speaking any of the above languages the client will not be able to participate in ANY Activities that involve a safety talk. This is for the safety of the client and the Park. Refunds will not be given should the client not fulfill the height, age and/or health requirement. Tour operators have a specific duty to ensure that its clients meet the criteria for participating in the Activities. No refund will be given if the client decides, once at the Big Cats zone, that it does not want to do the activity. No refund will be given if the client calls on the day of activity saying he/she is sick without sending proof of a medical certificate. Walk with the lions activity: Should the weather be wet, Safaris Adventures offers all walking clients a rain coat so that the Activities may be proceeded with. If the activity is operating and the client chooses not to walk in the rain then 100% cancellation fee will be in order. A postponement might be considered in case of very heavy rainfall. This decision is made by the Management of Safari Adventures and is final. We recommend that clients are informed that the walk with the lions is conducted in savannah conditions and therefore the ground under foot is uneven. We thoroughly recommend proper walking shoes, like sports shoes (tennis, trainers etc.). Flip flops are not recommended, especially in the rainy season. Sensible clothing should be worn and no long dresses. No Sunglasses can be worn unless they are absolutely necessary by prescription. Sun cream and mosquito repellent may be worn.
Big Cats Cancellation Policy
In the event of any cancellation of a booking by a client, the following cancellation policy shall apply: 100% Cancellation fee (i.e. total cost of booking), payable in the event that:
• Client does not show up 30 minutes prior to the start of the activity
• Client cancel your booking by email, fax or phone, on the day of the activity
• Client cancel your booking within less than 24 hours of the day of the activity;
• Client cancel the booking upon arrival at the Park or at the departure point.
Clients should arrive at the park at least 45 minutes before the walking departure time. Late arrivals will not be refunded but will be offered an interaction in the place of the walk, if available. 18. OUR BASIC
Safety Rules
No shouting, no screaming, no running, no sitting unless requested to do so, remain in the group at ALL times, turn all mobiles off, remove all sunglasses. Medical conditions (diabetes, pregnancy, allergies, epilepsy, any existing heart conditions etc) should be communicated to the guide. Only approach the animals when told to do so and in the area you are told to do so. You must not touch the head of the animal. Each client is given a walking stick which is to remain with them throughout the activity and must adhere to all instructions given by the guide for their own safety. The Activities can be ceased at any time for whatever reason at the guide or handlers’ discretion. All personal items will be locked away during the walking activity. During interactions, personal items are left in a secure place. The whole interaction area is covered by CCTV. Any unreasonable behaviour will not be tolerated and clients will be removed from the facilities. Emergency Procedures: In the unlikely event of an accident our Guides and Management are trained in Advanced First Aid and the park is covered by emergency response services. All visitors must abide with any other conditions displayed in the park grounds or communicated by Casela staff. Visitors who do not comply will be asked to leave the premises, without any refund/indemnity.
Cancellation policy
In the event of any cancellation of a booking by a client, the following cancellation policy shall apply: 100% Cancellation fee (i.e. total cost of booking), payable in the event that:

Please note that no confirmed bookings can be exchanged for other Activities.
The Management of Casela reserves the right to suspend or cancel any activity or close the Park, for the safety and security of its visitors and proper running of the Park, where there is adverse weather, power failure, equipment failure, maintenance and/or construction. No refund will be made but we will do our best to accommodate visitors in the next available Activities on the same day, if possible.
