Description:
The Tea Route is a unique experience which will bring you into the Mauritian history and its colonial heritage. The tour starts at Domaine des Aubineaux, a colonial house built in 1872 with its original furnishings.
The second step is the tea factory of Bois Cheri where you will be shown the internal production to the packaging. Close to the tea factory, the visit ends with a tasting of various relaxing and scented tea varieties in a cottage facing a lake surrounded by tea plantation and stunning views.
A few miles in the south, at Saint Aubin, another colonial house, you will enjoy a tasteful creole lunch served on the terrace. Built in 1891, the house in addition to producing sugarcane is also touted for its delicious rum of which you can follow the production at the distillery where you will get the opportunity to taste the different flavors of rum.
At "La Maison de la Vanille", you will also discover the long process of transformation of this orchid.
