A nature lovers' day in the Ebony Forest
Embark on a nature lovers' trip to the Ebony Forest and spend the day amid the lush green nature the west coast has to offer. Stroll through the forest, discover its beauty and learn about the history of Mauritius at the museum.
The Ebony Forest Reserve is a unique ecological site dedicated to the conservation of the island's native ebony forests, in the south-western part of Mauritius. A private vehicle collects you from your accommodation and brings you back, a 25-minute guided tour is included, and the rest of the day is yours to design with a choice of optional activities.

A tree from the time of the dodo: visitors can hug an ebony tree that was already standing in the days of the dodo.
A forest that is growing back: more than 100,000 native trees have been planted here, and endangered birds such as the pink pigeon and the echo parakeet have been reintroduced.
A walk among the treetops: a raised walkway, from half a metre to four metres high, leads through the Flycatcher Forest.
